Wednesdays at Hillcrest
Wednesday Nights at Hillcrest
Wednesdays look different this fall. We're gathering around four topics for four weeks. Choose one topic for Session #2. It's a new way to connect and learn! Wednesday nights are 6:30 to 8 PM with check-in at Fellowship Hall. Childcare is available for birth through fifth grade with registration. Contact Julie Cook at with questions.
SESSION #2: Starts October 17 and runs through November 14 (except 10/31) See topics below.
New for Session #2! The Coming Age with Randy & Kelsey Bohlender | Randy and Kelsey host this study of what the Bible says about the coming age and the events leading up to it.
New for Session #2! Show me the Money with Pat McCown | Join us for four weeks of Biblical principles on finance.
Where Research and Scripture Agree on Marital Health with Doug & Claudia Burford | Secular research on the principles and practices underlying long, satisfied marriages is catching up with Scripture. In this course, Doug and Claudia Burford will share how their training with The Gottman Institute (UW, Seattle) accords with biblical teaching on love and marriage. Doug is a licensed professional counselor (KS) with dual specializations in trauma, and in couples counseling; Claudia is a licensed social worker at Children's Mercy Hospital and a trained parent educator. Group handouts will be provided.
Resistance Theology & the Skyrocketing Cost of Discipleship with Steve Hickey | Please join us these weeks for a careful look at the life and thought of German Christian martyr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The familiar themes of Bonhoeffer will be considered in fresh light; costly grace, religionless Christianity, simple obedience, responsibility, the Sermon on the Mount and Life Together. Please purchase Theologian of Resistance: The Life and Thought of Dietrich Bonhoeffer from Amazon (https://tinyurl.com/DietrichBonhoefferBook) or your local bookstore.
